Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin are two of the names that come to mind in regards to the greatest WWE superstars of all time. Hogan dominated the ’80s as the top star of Vince McMahon’s. On a recent episode of the 83 Weeks Podcast, Eric Bischoff talked about the relationship between Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon.Bischoff, being great friends with Hogan for many many years, says. Hulk Hogan has stated that he'd like to wrestle one final match for WWE at WrestleMania, but he wants it to be against the company's owner Vince McMahon.

Speaking to WrestlingAC.com while the company were visiting Saudi Arabia earlier this month, the former world champion expressed regret at the way his in-ring career had finished. Particularly that his last match was in TNA and not in WWE.

“History is very important to me. I’ve had a very long career and part of my career was with a very, very small company and a very gracious lady named Dixie Carter at TNA. I had actually my last match there. That’s hard for me to live with. I want my last match to be in the WWE.

Hogan's current curtain closer was on the TNA Maximum Impact Tour of the UK in 2012, teaming up with James Storm and Sting to defeat Bobby Roode, Bully Ray and Kurt Angle. Yes, you've read all of that correctly and, yes, TNA was absolutely insane back then. Not quite as insane as the prospect of Hogan vs Vince at WrestleMania, but certainly up there.

“The one I’d love to get in the ring with if I only had one person? It would be Vince McMahon. I’ve been pushing and negotiating very hard and I’m getting very, very healthy again. I’m in good shape. I’m a little bit under 300 pounds, maybe 295 pounds. I’m getting ready. I’m going to have one little teeny surgery on my back, it’ll take me a couple of months to recover, but I’ve got my eyes focused on WrestleMania.'

66-year-old wrestling legend Hulk Hogan is facing an eighth back surgery after a lifetime of physical punishment, but after being welcomed back into the world of WWE last year, Hogan is hoping to recover in time for a grand sendoff match in his hometown of Tampa, Florida, at WrestleMania 36.

Hogan told Arash Markazi of the Los Angeles Times that he wouldn’t be satisfied if the final match of his career occurred outside WWE, and that he’s talked to Vince McMahon about a potential return to the ring. Hogan last wrestled in 2013, in a six-man tag match for what was then called Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

“I talked to Vince, and I said I really don’t know if I could live with myself knowing my last match was with TNA. If I can get fixed, I pray I can have one more match. I told Vince, ‘When I get through this back surgery, I’m going to get in the best shape of my life and we’re going to talk about me having one last retirement match.'”

Hogan also has an opponent in mind – though the matchup may not be very feasible. For his sendoff match, Hogan wants a rematch of his 2003 bout with Vince McMahon – now 74 – at WrestleMania XIX. Hogan won that match, a bloody street fight, to avoid being forced to retire.

“I had such a great time with him in the ring at WrestleMania 19. I had no idea what to expect from him, but he’s a great bad guy. His timing is great. I loved wrestling him, but everything he does hurts.”

If Hogan and McMahon were to meet in the ring on April 5th, 2020, the two opponents would have a combined age of 140. That being said, it’s not totally out of the question, at least for Hogan. His style of wrestling later in his career didn’t demand much athleticism, though any bumps he may be forced to take would likely cause some serious pain at his age.

Vince McMahon, meanwhile, has always been a workout nut, and he looked like this on the cover of Muscle & Fitness just a few years ago.

McMahon has recently proven he’s still willing to put his body on the line for the business. In 2017, McMahon allowed himself to be headbutted and bloodied by Kevin Owens for a storyline.

Hogan vs. McMahon in 2020 almost certainly wouldn’t be a good match, but the two legends could certainly play to the crowd for 5 or 10 minutes, and Hogan would get his picturesque exit in his hometown.
